About Me & My Projects

Let me start a way back – I was locked in the corporate world for 20 years. As fascinated as I was at the beginning, I´ve always known that it wasn´t my place. So one day I just left. Then, between my intention to begin doing something meaningful and all my trips in the developing countries, I’ decided that social enterpreneurship was where I should start. For the last 4 years I´ve taken classes in UK universities, I volunteered in numerous programs, I´ve visited more than 100 conferences. But the truth is – in the end, I still needed a mission. And it hit me – right there and then. One winter day in the street. Right at my front door. A small grey cat. A tiny creature I felt in love with. I called her Emma.
Right there and then I was sure that this iwas the path I wanted to follow. My mission introduced itself – helping the cats.

The Street Cats of Sofia

A month after Emma came into my life, I realized that my neighbourhood was full of small kittens. So this is where I started from. Without no previous experience, it was hard in the beginning to know how exactly I can help cats on the street. But step by step, I’ve learned that taking care care of them, I have to start from the beginning of the cycle. So I’ve started nurturing them one by one, I’ve welcomed at least 15 in my home during the years. I fed them in the backyard every day, took care of them when they were sick. As a result, there were no kittens born around the neighbourhood since 2017. I’ve found a home for most of my street friends – in Germany, Switzerland, Austria. I visit them from time to time, when travelling with my bike and often talk to their new families. And, in the end, I’ve found them a place in my heart.

I was visiting Bulgaria and feeding a stray cat family in my neighbourhood. I was in desperate need of help and I was contacting every single animal shelter I could possibly find including some animal activists abroad. This is when I met Todor Doynov from Street Cats of Sofia. He was the only one to help me. I will always be grateful for his immense kindness.

Todor rescued my wonderful cats Creamy and Nala from the streets of Sofia in 2019 and I am so glad that he has never given up on Creamy although she was so shy and not catchable for almost 2 years.
And the sweetest thing is that he still cares about them and misses them after I adopted them some months ago and he is on the mission to rescue new poor cats.

I’ve got my two cats from an organisation named „Streunerhilfen Bulgarien“ (Stray aid bulgaria) and i haven’t got any problems, it was all good organised and i really can recommend it. They communicated with Teddy, because he found the kittens and took care of them really well! He even visited me in Switzerland for taking a look where they’re staying now and all what i can say is that he’s a really very kind and reliable person!
