The program

This Program blends the passion of doing good in general with travel, meeting new people and discovering ancient cultures in a very authentic way. We´ve selected places in Bulgaria for the execution of the program that are still developing and, at the same time, located close to beautiful natural and historic areas. Every year 9 million people visit Bulgaria, so you can rely on good infrastructure and a completely safe trip. There you can help locals understand more about the need for doing good through setting a personal example. Every day you will be able to help different causes connected, on one hand, with humans – children, elderly people in need, sightless people by spending precious time with them, helping the with their daily routine and food, and, on the other hand, with cats – by helping in getting better life for them, dealing with castration and other initiatives. During the program you will be able to get to know the area, stay in local guest houses and enjoy authentic meals prepared by locals with locally produced products. That way, you will also support the locals to develop the region.

How you can help

Volunteers can expect to participate in a number of tasks, including but not limited to:

Spending time with the children from social care institutions;

Spending time with elderly people;

Spending time with sightless people and engage with activities such as reading, helping them dealing with administrative issues and settling of bills;

Buying, packing and distribution of food and small gifts for all three groups of people;

Developing of TNR program for the cats.

On site, we will combine the causes of the program. We will visit in groups different institutions for children (social care institutions and orphanages), retirement homes and institutions for sightless people and food banks. By visiting those sites and through personal example we will gain the attention of the locals, talk to them and help them understand the problems in these areas as well as stress on the need of more volunteer programs and help needed. We will help in the improvement of people’s lives. On the other hand, when it comes to the parts of the program connected with animals, we will help out with animals in need of medical attention and neutering.

Volunteers not only play a major role in helping the different groups of people and animals in need, but in keeping the operation sustainable and able to continue to operate and fulfill its mission.

The price of the project covers the costs that are created by volunteers. The money received for a volunteer placement is split as follows: 60% is used to cover a volunteer’s direct costs, for example, accommodation, food and transfers. 20% is a direct donation to the project which we use to fund animal care in the program (medical bills, medicines, etc.), and 20% goes towards business costs such as staff and administration. If it were not for this project, we cannot provide this type of care for the animals, as we do not receive any funding.
